Saga Wikingów - Northmen: A Viking Saga

Dzisiaj trochę luźniej, bo filmowo. Od początku maja mamy w Polsce wątpliwy zaszczyt gościć na ekranach naszych kin „Sagę Wikingów”. Czyli film, jakby się zdawało, o Wikingach.

Today it'll be a little more loosely, about a movie. From the beginning of the May we have the dubious honor to host „Northmen - A Viking Saga” in polish cinemas.

Fabuła / Plot

Fabuła jest prosta jak budowa cepa – grupka Wikingów rozbija się łodzią na nieznanym wybrzeżu. Ścierają się z oddziałem tamtejszych żołnierzy. Ci akurat przypadkiem wieźli księżniczkę. Radość Wikingów dobiega końca, gdy okazuje się, że tatuś – król – za córuchnę nie ma zamiaru zapłacić.

Generalnie wszystko rozbija się o siepanie i uciekanie lub ściganie. Film jest przygodowy, więc bohaterowie mają przygód co niemiara. Szkoda, że każda jedna jest taka sama.

Plot is very simple – bunch of Vikings crushed into the unknown coast. They fought with a squad of soldiers, which, accidentally, were taking a princess to a wedding. The joy of the Vikings comes to an end when it turns out that a father – the king – don't want pay a ransom for her.

Generally speaking everything is turning around killing, escaping and hunting. This is an adventure movie so there is a lot of adventures – shame that all are the same.

Bohaterowie / Characters

Postaci też nie są zbyt skomplikowane. Mamy Wikingów, którzy są źli (bo wyżynają ludzi i chcieli sprzedać dziewczynę), ale dobrzy, bo to film o nich. Mamy króla, który w sumie nie wiemy jaki jest, oprócz tego, że nie dostanie nominacji do nagrody ojca roku. Chrześcijańskiego mnicha, który wziął się z nikąd, zmierza do nikąd, ale jest zarąbisty, więc pomaga Wikingom. Są żołnierze, którzy są wstrętni, źli i mają miny jak groźni Uruk-hai z „Władcy Pierścieni”. A na dokładkę księżniczka z syndromem sztokholmskim.

Characters are not too complicated. We have a Vikings - they are bad (because they're killing people and they wanted to sell a girl), but also good, because movie is about them. We have a king, but we don't really know how is he like, apart from that that he's definitely not going to get a nomination for a father of the year. There is a christian monk, who comes from nowhere and goes nowhere, but he's awesome, so he helps the Vikings. There are soldiers, awful and bad, with faces fearsome like Uruk-hai from „The Lord of the Rings”. And for the dessert there is a princess with stockholm syndrome.

Jedynym plusem jest to, że uniknęliśmy głupiej historii miłosnej.

The only advantage is that there is no silly love story.

Film z pewnością jest rozrywkowy, no bo przecież nie historyczny. Pełno w nim efektów, mniej lub bardziej dziwacznych. Bohaterowie umierają od jednego ciosu mieczem, ale nie giną, gdy ich ciała rozbijają się o klif morski, a gęste błoto, w którym walczą, gdy główny bohater zaczyna się topić, jakoś magicznie staje się po prostu brudną wodą.

Polecam jedynie na nudę, ale nie zalecam wydawania pieniędzy na kino.

The movie definitely is entertaining, certainly not historic. There is a lot of more or less strange effects in it. Characters are dying because of one strike of a sword, but they're still alive when they fall from a high cliff. The mud is thick when they're fighting in it, but it magically becomes just a dirty water when the main character is drowning.

I recommend it for people who are bored, but it is not a good idea to spend a money to see it in a cinema.
